Mount Longonot, Hell's Gate, Aberdaires, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara


ITINERARY


Day 1 : Nairobi – Longonot

Your Kenya safari adventure begins with pickup from your hotel at 7 a.m. En route through the Rift Valley viewpoint. Arrive at the Mount Longonot National Park Gate, and begin our hike to the top (crater), rising to 9108ft / 2,776m. Rising from the floor of the Great Rift Valley like a monolith is the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot. The unique feature is the thick forest which is found in the crater of the mountain. The crater rim also offers stunning panoramic views across the beautiful Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. The main wildlife attractions of Mount Longonot include buffalo, eland, impala, leopard, giraffe, common zebra and Grant's gazelles. If you wish you will have a peak of the crater circuit. We will then descend from the hike and go to Naivasha for late lunch. The afternoon is free and we can organize the boat trip at sunset to see the hippos. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp. Full board.

Day 2 : Hell's Gate National Park (Naivasha)

Departure in the morning after breakfast, drive towards Hell's Gate National Park for a day of guided walking and cycling tour in this picturesque park among herbivores, not carnivores. The park has spectacular scenery that includes towering cliffs, stark rock towers, water-cut gorges, scrub-covered volcanoes, and plumes of geothermal steam. It is an activity park, a paradise for hikers and cyclists. Common animals include African buffalo, eland, zebra, Thomson's gazelle and baboons. The park is also home to Chandler's mountain reedbuck and klipspringer antelope. It also has a prolific bird life

Day 3 : Naivasha-Aberdaires National Park

Breakfast and departure from Naivasha for the Aberdaires National Park. Arrival at the Aberdaire Country Club Nyeri hotel, for lunch and then transfer to the Abadaires National Park for a safari then go to The Ark lodge for accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 : Aberdaires National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

Early breakfast at the lodge, short safari en route and leave Aberdare Park take the road to Lake Nakuru National Park safari in the park to the Lodge or Camp, installation and lunch and then post safari noon then return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. Full board accommodation.

Day 5 : Nakuru – Masai Mara

Departure from Lake Nakuru towards the very famous Masai Mara reserve, arriving at the lodge or camp at lunchtime and then a short rest and then enjoy a 4:00 p.m. safari when the sun goes down and the wildlife emerges from the shadows. At 6:00 p.m. Return to the lodge or camp where you can take a hot water shower before dinner. Accommodation will be at the lodge or camp on a full board basis.

Day 6 : Full day safari drive

Breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and departure for a full day at Kenya's most popular sanctuary where we will have the best opportunity to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) along the savannah plains of the Masai Mara reserve. With the visit to the Mara River where you will be able to see hippos in the ponds and crocodiles sunbathing on the banks of the river. At 1:00 p.m., I will take you to a place for a picnic which will have been prepared by your camp leader. After a short rest. you will resume the safari. Return to camp at the end of the day. You will have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai village. Note that tips are given to the Masai when you visit their village. After a hot shower, a good dinner awaits you. Accommodation will be at the lodge or camp on a full board basis,

Day 7 : Masai Mara / Nairobi

In the morning after breakfast safari in the reserve, we will have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai village (optional). Note that tips are given to the Masai when you visit their village (20€ per person), and leave Masai Mara for Nairobi for the night, Half board accommodation,

Day 8: Nairobi – Amboseli Natinal Park

After breakfast, departure from Nairobi for Amboseli National Park, arrival at the lodge or Camp, lunch rest and then safari in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park is one of the oldest reserves in Kenya, renowned for its location opposite Kilimanjaro (below) and its beautiful herds of elephants, but there are also lions, cheetahs, giraffes, Hippo etc… the landscapes are truly magnificent, its land in laterite, blue sky and green vegetation, so many colors and lots of wild animals!! The night will be lodge or Camp. Full board. The very famous Amboseli Park 400 km2 is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya, with Kilimanjaro in the background (to see it, you have to get up early (or sometimes in the evening) because there are many clouds most often hide it all day long. You can observe many animals (zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, etc.) Located 200 km south of Nairobi Vast plain dotted with acacias,

Day 9: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

Departure after breakfast for Tsavo West safari to Tsavo West National Park with a visit to Mzima Spring pass; resurgence of crystal clear rivers filtered in the volcanic rocks of Tsavo, forming a body of water inhabited by hippos and crocodiles, arrive at Ngulia safari Lodge for lunch and rest until 4 p.m. for an afternoon safari until 'at 6 then return for dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge.

Day 10: Tsavo West-Tsavo East.

Departure after breakfast for Tsavo East. The semi-arid plains of East Tsavo extend from the Taita Hills to the Yatta escarpment where the broad Galana River flows and where large numbers of hippos and crocodiles live. Herds of elephants as well as herds of buffalo are numerous on the vast plains of Tsavo-East. Tsavo East also has the particularity of hosting numerous groups of lions, cheetahs also like the plains of Tsavo East. safari in Tsavo East Park then lunch and rest at the lodge until 4 p.m. then afternoon safari until 6 p.m.: Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest parks in Kenya. The two national parks Tsavo East and Tsavo West together form one of the largest nature reserves in Africa (21,000 km2).

Day 11: Tsavo East-Mombasa/Diani/Watamu

Morning after breakfast game drives in Tsavo East National Park in search of lions, cheetah, antelopes, elephants with many other animals and leave the park for the direction of Mombasa with lunch en route. Then continue the journey to your hotel in Mombasa Diani arriving in the afternoon…end of safari.
